Welcome to Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., calibrates and repairs equipment to meet or exceed published manufacturer specifications, using standards whose accuracies are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), or natural physical constants. All calibration activities are performed in compliance with ANSI Z540-1-1994, MIL-STD-45662A and ISO Guide 25. All calibration work is performed from our Laboratories in Anchorage, or on-site from our Mobile Calibration Laboratory.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., utilizes a computerized equipment tracking system to document all calibration and maintenance activities. A Unique Identification Number, as well as the manufacturer, model number and serial number are used to identify each piece of equipment. This information is stored in our database. Each piece of equipment is calibrated using a standardized calibration procedure and the manufacturer’s original specifications. In most cases our calibration standards are four to ten times as accurate as the customer’s equipment.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., provides calibration data results with all calibrations. As a standard practice, we perform an As-Found calibration, and provide the calibration results. We then perform maintenance on your equipment to restore it to as full and accurate performance as possible. We then perform an As-Left calibration and provide calibration data results. When repair is required for your equipment, we use original manufacturer’s parts.
Pressure Calibrations.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., maintains calibration standards to calibrate pressure equipment from near full vacuum to 10,000 PSI. Our Primary Standards include Deadweight Testers and Hook-Gage Manometers. Our Working standards include a variety of electronic pressure modules. We can calibrate the following types of pressure measuring equipment:
| Gage Pressure Gauges |
Absolute Pressure Gauges |
 |
| Differential Pressure Gauges |
Pressure Chart Recorders |
| Magnehelic Pressure Gauges |
Pressure Switches |
| Pressure Relief Valves |
Check Valves |
| Deadweight Testers |
Pressure Modules |
Torque Calibrations.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., can calibrate and repair most brands and types of torque wrenches and torque measuring equipment. We can measure torque from 4 inch Pounds up to 2000 Foot Pounds. Our accuracy of measurement is typically 0.25% of reading. Our Primary Standards include a variety of torsion arms and ANSI Class 5 & 6 weights. Our Working Standards include computerized torque measuring systems. We can calibrate the following types of torque measuring equipment:
| Torque Wrenches |
Torque Screwdrivers |
 |
| Mechanical Torque Calibrators |
Electronic Torque Calibrators |
Weights and Scale Calibrations.
Alaska Metrology & Calibration Services, Inc., can calibrate weight and mass scales. We maintain calibrated weights. We can calibrate scales from 1 milligram to 600 pounds capacity. Our primary weight standards include ANSI Class 3, Class 5 and Class 6 weights. We can calibrate customers weight standards to ±0.000001 grams (below 200 grams) to ±0.01 grams (below 999 grams) and to ±0.1 grams (below 8100 grams). We can calibrate the following types of weighing equipment:
| Electronic Scales |
Spring Scales |
 |
| Mass Standards |
Baggage Scales |
| Fish Scales |
Hydraulic Cylinders |
